    The Self Realization Mantra

    I am thee Iself.
    I am thee Allself.
    I am thee Godself.
    I am thee Noself.
    I am thee Amness.

provides a comprehensive map of existence, affirming five fundamental aspects of our true nature:

    • Iself (individual self): the individual focal point of conscious awareness
    • Allself (universal self): the universal consciousness
    • Godself (divine self): the divine creative principle
    • Noself (transcendent emptiness): the void or great nothingness
    • Amness (pure beingness): the sourceless source of all that is

Journeying deeper into the heart of self realization, guided by the illuminating wisdom of this mantra, we arrive at a very sacred and transformative realization: the understanding that our true nature is none other than the Divine creative principle itself, the source of all creation.

The Self Realization Mantra points to this ineffable truth with the profound phrase “I Am Thee Godself.” This statement is not a mere belief or concept. It is a direct pointing to the true nature of our being. It suggests that our identity is not limited to the individual self, the Allself, or even the vast expanse of awareness. It is rooted in the very source of all that is – the Divine Consciousness that gives birth to the entire universe.

The Godself is characterized by eight fundamental attributes that point to its transcendent, unconditioned nature: beyond things, beyond places, beyond time, beyond choice, beyond reason, beyond identity, beyond knowledge, and beyond action. These attributes highlight the Godself as the ultimate reality that is prior to and beyond all phenomenal appearances and conceptual designations.

In the light of this realization, we understand that the entire universe is an expression of the Divine, a magnificent manifestation of divine consciousness unfolding in countless forms and dimensions. This understanding shatters our ordinary perception of reality as a collection of separate and distinct entities, and reveals that the very fabric of existence is woven from the luminous threads of divine consciousness.

As we deepen our realization of the Divine as our true nature, we recognize that the sacred presence we once sought is the very essence of our own being. This understanding is expressed in Baba Muktananda’s words: “Honor your Self. Worship your Self. Meditate on your Self. God dwells within you as you. See God in each other.” From this awakening arises a natural sense of unity, reverence, and wonder, as every moment and every encounter becomes a direct revelation of the Divine that permeates all existence.

    The Mantra Itself

    I Am Thee Godself
God Dwells Within Me As Me

The first line, “I Am Thee Godself,” is the individual affirming itself as the divine. The second line, “God Dwells Within Me As Me,” is the divine affirming itself as the individual.

It is a complete, two-way realization. It entirely collapses the apparent separation between God and the individual.

The Godself Realization Mantra works in harmony with the Self Realization Mantra, each one supporting and enriching the other. As we integrate these mantras into our daily practice, we create a powerful synergy that propels us toward a more complete understanding and embodiment of our true Self.

    Confronting Resistance to Embodying Divinity

As we contemplate the profound truth expressed in the third line of the Self Realization Mantra, “I Am Thee Godself,” or the Godself Realization Mantra, “I am thee Godself. God dwells within me as me,” we may find ourselves confronted with deep-seated resistance arising from the core of our being. The notion that we are not merely human, but direct embodiments of the infinite, eternal source animating all of existence, can trigger reactions of disbelief, fear, and rejection.

It is crucial to understand that this resistance is often rooted in the ego’s attachment to belief, a mental construct that can be fragile and easily shaken. The purpose of this mantra is not to cultivate a new belief, but to catalyze a deep embodied knowing, an unshakeable inner certainty that bypasses intellectual assent and resonates with the very core of your being.

This resistance is natural and should be honored rather than judged or bypassed. It represents the residues of ancient conditionings and misunderstandings woven into the fabric of our human experience, such as religious and cultural upbringings that enshrine God as an omnipotent being separate from the human realm.

Indeed, our identification with the ego – the limited, separate sense of self – rebels against the revelation of these mantras. For the ego to accept its identity with the infinite expanse of divine consciousness is to acknowledge its own inevitable dissolution.

As challenging as these layers of resistance may seem, they are byproducts of existential amnesia that can be steadily unveiled and undone. By shining the light of unconditional presence and inquiry into these core resistances with courage and self-honesty, they can be gradually metabolized and integrated.

While the Self Realization Mantra provides a comprehensive map of existence, the Godself Realization Mantra serves as something far more specific and urgent: the navigation technology for humanity’s most crucial evolutionary leap.

I wish you all the best. May you come to know yourself as God.
